Harmonising communities and environment through sustainable development of land

At PT Hijau Daun, we believe that companies have the responsibilities and resources to carry out sustainable land developement that benefits the communities and environment.

PT Hijau Daun has helped over 20+ companies in Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Solomon Island to ensure that land are developed sustainably without displacing communities and degrading forests.

Since 2017, PT Hijau Daun has assessed 375,476 hectares of land for sustainable development.

283,261 hectares of land has been developed responsibly since 2017 by 29 companies across the four countries where PT Hijau Daun is operating.

That is almost four times the size of Singapore

91,855 hectares of primary and secondary forests, as well as, socially important areas have been identified as High Conservation Value Areas and set aside for conservation and maintenance.

This is equivalent to 129,373 football fields.

Through Free-Prior and Informed Consent, 311 community groups have avoided displacement and benefited from the sustainable land development process.

Companies provide job opportunities to community groups therefore improving the overall livelihood of families residing around the developed areas.
